Having worked in locations where materials are limited,
we have learned to widen our palette to make the
most out of what is available locally.

MATERIAL RESEARCH & EXPERIMENTATION

We have an obsession with the exploration of natural texture and materiality, and delight in discovering ways in which cultures have used these to relate with their environment and climate. Borrowing from these traditional approaches, we synthesize fresh design solutions that are functional, contemporary and authentic.

Practical examples of innovative material use that are suited to local lives and culture, will inspire the adoption of better building conventions. Many of our workshops are themed around spreading these techniques, and demonstrating how they can be adapted to various settings.
